Our Special Harbor Spray Park at Lee District, located in Alexandria, FREE, fully accessible Chesapeake-Bay themed sprayground has fun features including a spraying osprey nest, Chessie the sea serpent, misting sunflowers and a lighthouse. The beach area is quieter with softer bubblers and interactive water tables. The computerized water maze and dumping crab basket provide more lively activity.
For safety, children (15 years and younger) enjoying the spray park, MUST wear aquatic shoes or sandals with a manufactured back strap at all times; non-standing, non-mobile, babies are exempt; adults may wear flip-flops instead of aquatic shoes or sandals with a manufactured back strap. Street shoes are NOT PERMITTED in the sprayground. They will turn you away if not!!!
NO food is allowed inside the spray park, but there are picnic tables on the grounds between the playground and carousel. There are restrooms on site.
The Yards Park in D.C., FREE, a premier waterfront destination, provides green space and water features for all to enjoy the outdoors along the Anacostia River. Features a huge canal basin (11″ splash pool) and fountains. Swim diapers are a must if your little one isn’t potty trained.
Avoid the area if the Nationals are playing at home unless you don’t mind the crowds and extra parking fees.
Two public restrooms are located in the Lumber Shed building that houses restaurants Agua 301, Osteria Morini, Due South, and Ice Cream Jubilee. These restrooms can be accessed via a door on the west side of the building, between Agua 301 and Due South.
Georgetown Waterfront Park located in Georgetown, FREE, arching fountain at the entrance to the park resembles a giant lawn sprinkler as water jets of varying heights spray the pavement below. It’s also illuminated at night.
Turkey Thickest Playground located in NE D.C., FREE, lighthouse and boat themed splash pad and also a fun playground with train shaped jungle gym and farmer’s market play area.
Old Town Square Spray Pad located in Old Town Fairfax, FREE, limited free parking on site, additional spaces located across the street. No restrooms, but there is a library across the street if you’re in need.
Mosaic District, located in the Merrifield area, FREE, there is always a lot going on at Mosaic, fun, dining, shopping, movies, and more.
Virginia Highlands Park, Arlington, FREE
Palisades Splash Park, NW D.C., FREE, there’s a great playground here as well.
Downtown Silver Spring, Silver Spring, FREE
